Biography | Sean Doyle — The Quadrangle Where He Took a Cork Commerce Degree

People treat airline finance as something learned in London.

Doyle took the first paper in Cork.

University College Cork sits on the south bank of the Lee in a Tudor Gothic quadrangle designed by Sir Thomas Deane and Benjamin Woodward after the college was founded as Queen's College, Cork, in 1845.

Doyle's own public biography, repeated by British Airways and Aer Lingus, names him as a UCC graduate.

LinkedIn, in his own listing, dates a Bachelor of Commerce in accountancy to the years 1989 to 1993.

The Irish Times later recorded that he trained as a management accountant with CB Forms, a small Cork printing firm run by a friend, before he applied to British Airways.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants years sit in the mid-1990s on the same listing.

This lawn is the part of the campus a visitor can stand on without a staff pass.

The clock tower and the stone corridor face the green as they did when commerce students crossed it in the early 1990s.

From here the documented jump is not to another Irish firm.

It is to a junior finance desk at British Airways in 1998.
