People treat NVR as a Reston homebuilder that always printed NVR after a finished New York book.
The January 2008 issuer was NVR, Inc., the Virginia successor that had emerged from the 1992 Chapter 11 case of NVR L.P. and had been trading on the American Stock Exchange under the same letters.
An SEC Form 8-K dated 10 December 2007 records that the company had been approved to list its common stock and its 5 percent senior notes due 2010 on the New York Stock Exchange, and that it had notified AMEX of the simultaneous delisting.
The attached press release records that the shares were expected to begin trading on the NYSE on 2 January 2008 under the current symbol NVR.
The present tape is still NVR on the New York Stock Exchange.
The mechanism is a transfer listing: the AMEX book stopped at year-end 2007, and the Big Board opened the same letters the next session without a new cash offer.
The pin is the public Broad Street facade of the 1903 New York Stock Exchange building, the street marker for the tape that has printed NVR since that January.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
