People treat Palo Alto Networks as a Santa Clara cybersecurity house that always printed PANW after a finished Nasdaq book.
The July 2012 issuer was Palo Alto Networks, Inc., a Delaware corporation founded in 2005, and the first tape was not Nasdaq.
A company release dated 19 July 2012 priced 6,200,000 common shares at 42 dollars each in 2012 currency. The company sold 4,687,259 shares.
Selling stockholders sold 1,512,741 shares.
Trading began on the New York Stock Exchange on 20 July 2012 under the symbol PANW. The first session closed at 53.13 dollars, about 27 percent above the offer.
Nine years later the company filed a Form 8-A to move the same letters.
NYSE trading stopped at the close on 22 October 2021. Nasdaq trading began at the open on 25 October 2021.
The ticker stayed PANW.
The mechanism is an exchange transfer after a priced primary offering: the firewall book kept one symbol while the listing venue changed from the Big Board to Nasdaq.
The pin is the public Broad Street facade of the Exchange, where PANW first printed.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
