People treat Palantir as a Denver software house that always printed PLTR after a finished New York book.
The September 2020 issuer was Palantir Technologies Inc., the data-analytics company founded in 2003.
A company press release dated 22 September 2020 said Class A common stock would begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 30 September 2020 after the Form S-1 was declared effective.
The Exchange set a reference price of 7.25 dollars per share in 2020 currency. No shares changed hands at that figure.
The first print was 10 dollars. The session closed at 9.50 dollars.
The listing was a direct listing, not a firm-commitment offering.
Existing holders could sell registered stock. The company issued no new shares and raised no cash.
The present tape is still PLTR on the New York Stock Exchange.
The mechanism is a reference-price open: the specialist matches buy and sell interest in already-outstanding stock instead of an underwriter pricing a primary book.
The pin is the public Broad Street facade of the Exchange, the present street marker for the tape that has printed PLTR.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
