People treat Roper as a Sarasota software acquirer that always printed ROP after a finished Nasdaq book.
The July 2023 issuer was already public. Roper Industries had sold common stock in 1992 and later carried the letters ROP on the New York Stock Exchange.
An 8-K dated 22 June 2023 records the move. The board withdrew the principal listing from the New York Stock Exchange and transferred it to the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
The filing said New York trading would end at the close on 5 July 2023 and Nasdaq trading would begin at the open on 6 July 2023. The letters stayed ROP.
A company release the same day said the transfer would put the stock into the Nasdaq Composite and make it eligible for the Nasdaq-100.
The present tape is ROP on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
The mechanism is a voluntary exchange transfer that kept the ticker. The software-heavy acquirer left the New York tape without a new sale of shares.
The pin is the public Times Square facade of Nasdaq MarketSite, the present street marker for the tape that now prints ROP.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
