People treat Ulta Beauty as a Bolingbrook beauty chain that always printed ULTA after a finished Nasdaq book.
The letters arrived as a cash IPO of a Romeoville salon-and-shelf retailer.
Renaissance Capital records that Ulta Salon, Cosmetics and Fragrance priced 8.5 million shares at 18 dollars each on 24 October 2007, the top of a revised 17-to-18-dollar range.
Reuters the next day records that the shares opened at 33 dollars on Nasdaq on 25 October 2007 and closed at 29.82 dollars, up 11.82 dollars from the offer price.
A New York Times DealBook note the morning after records afternoon trading near 29.75 dollars and about 56.7 million shares outstanding.
JPMorgan and Wachovia were the bookrunners on the deal.
The mechanism of 25 October 2007 is a primary Nasdaq listing of a dual-aisle beauty retailer, not a ticker inherited from a predecessor.
Nasdaq MarketSite at 4 Times Square opened in 2000, seven years before this print. The pin is that public facade, the later face of the market that took the 2007 order. Interior studios are not a visitor floor.
