People treat Samsung Fire as a Seocho tower that always sat inside the group.
The first company was a wartime fire-and-marine book.
On 26 January 1952 Korea Anbo Fire Marine Reinsurance opened from an office at 32 Daechang-dong 2-ga, Busan, while Seoul was still a front.
Ankuk Fire and Marine was incorporated in June 1956 in Seoul.
Its head office sat in Songhyeon-dong and a working office in Anguk-dong, the neighborhood that named the firm.
Samsung acquired Ankuk in February 1958.
The surviving company took the Samsung Fire and Marine name in December 1993.
Headquarters moved to Seocho in December 2016.
The listed insurer is the Busan wartime book folded into the Seoul Ankuk book, then renamed.
The founding pin is the Busan quarter where the 1952 meeting was held.
The exact wartime room is gone.
