Health History | Daiichi Sankyo — Three Friends Sold Takamine's Enzyme on Nihonbashi
kevin
People treat Daiichi Sankyo as a Nihonbashi-Honcho ADC house that always sold Enhertu from a 2005 holding company.
The first book was three friends selling a Chicago enzyme in Tokyo.
In 1899 Matasaku Shiobara, Shotaro Nishimura and Genjiro Fukui formed Sankyo Shoten to import Jokichi Takamine's Taka-Diastase. A Nihonbashi drug counter opened near the lot the company still occupies.
The name used the characters for three and cooperation. Takamine, who had crystallized the enzyme and later adrenaline, became first president when the shop incorporated as Sankyo Co., Ltd. in 1913.
Adrenalin went onto the same ledger in 1902. Sankyo also became Parke-Davis's sole Japanese distributor that year.
Daiichi Pharmaceutical began as Arsemin Shokai around 1915, making a domestic Salvarsan under Shozaemon Keimatsu. It incorporated as Daiichi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 1918.
The two houses folded into Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. on 28 September 2005. The operating books were absorbed in April 2007.
The present headquarters is 3-5-1 Nihonbashi-Honcho, Chuo-ku. The pin is the public Honcho frontage, not the classified suites.
The mechanism is an import shop for one scientist's enzyme, later written over a second Osaka-Tokyo manufacturing book. The listed company is twenty-one years old. The older ledger is 1899.
